    The Population Analysis of Protected Characteristics has been updated to include the latest information available as of March 2020, and is now available to download in the Equality & Diversity section of the Inform website. It provides an overview of the population of Gloucestershire by nine protected characteristics as set out in the Equality Act 2010.

    The ONS have released the latest small area populations.  Populations available by ward, super output area and census output area each by single year of age and gender can be found in our Population section

  • Ward Changes in Forest of Dean and Tewkesbury

    In May 2019 the boundaries and overall numbers of wards in the district of the Forest of Dean and the borough of Tewkesbury changed.  For a map showing the new ward boundaries in Tewkesbury and the Forest of Dean please visit our Geography and Boundaries page.

    Official Office for National Statistics population estimates for these new wards will become available in November 2020.

  • Survey of Adult Carers 2018/19

    Councils with Adult Social Services responsibilities in England are legally required to carry out a postal survey of carers every two years. This document outlines the key findings of the 2018/19 survey for Gloucestershire.

  • Mid 2018 Population Estimates

    The 2018 Mid-Year Population Estimates at district and county level have been published by the Office for National Statistics. The population of Gloucestershire was estimated to be around 633,558 in 2018, representing a rise of approximately 5,419 people since 2017. This is the equivalent to a growth of 0.9% in population from 2017 to 2018, which is higher than England and Wales growth of  0.6%.   • Online Pupil Survey

    Young people from schools, sixth forms and further education colleges took part in the survey and said what they think about a range of issues - from healthy eating, physical activity and living well to their experiences at school and how safe they feel. The headline results of the survey can be found here
